George Cotton

George was born in 1560 in Combermere, Cheshire, , England. George's father was Sir Richard Cotton and his mother was Mary Mainwaring. His paternal grandparents were Sir George Cotton Knight and Mary Onley; his maternal grandparents were Arthur Mainwaring and Margaret Mainwaring. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Arthur, Andrew, Mary, Frances, Elizabeth, Winifred and Dorothy. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 87 in 1647 in Nantwich, Cheshire, , England.
