General Notes

First wife was "Marion Francis Yocum" and he divorced her once, then remarried her at a later time. He at some time in the future then married Lottie Mae O'Quinn. Viola wrote Peary on 29 Sep 1977 and told him among other things that their roots went back to Caucasia somewhere between the Black and Caspian seas 200 miles or so north of the Persian gulf in the general area of the head of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. She also said that her relatives migrated westward into Sweden and then to the USA.
Peary says that his name was taken from Adm. Peary who eplored the north pole. Viola said that his name was Perry in his early years and for some reason it was changed to Peary, perhaps even as Peary indicates. He was a Sgt. in WWII.
