Seth Oben Liliedahl

Seth Oben was born on March 11th, 1870 in Galesburg, Knox, IL, USA. Seth Oben's father was Frank Johnson Liliedahl and his mother was Cecilia Peterson. His paternal grandparents were John Petter Frennesson and Sissa Eriksson Ericadotter. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Lee Bennett, Nels, Frank, Nellie, Mabel, Hannah Esther and Amy. He died at the age of 71 on November 1st, 1941 in Rosepine, Vernon, LA, USA. He was buried on November 5th, 1941 in Rosepine, Vernon, LA, USA.

General Notes
- Seth, Effie, and Viola are buried in the front part of the Rosepine Cemetery, in Section A, plots 1-314. The exact plot numbers are not known at this time but we have exaimined the stones. Effie's is unreadable except for a metal sign placed there by the funeral home perhaps. Burial date may not be exact. Perry Liliedahl also said that Seth was a well known horsetrader and dealt with fine horses on a regular basis. He was wellrespected and bought and sold horses regularly. When he moved to LA he boughtand sold horses for the timber companies in the early 1900's. Perry said on a subsequent visit that his daddy bought 120 acres of land NW of Rosepine, LA
  and paid 4200.00 for the land. He recounted remembering his family traveled by train through Sutton, NB and visited with Nils & Lee Lilliedoll who owned a drugstore there for about a week. They continued south to Roanoke, LA (near Jennings) where Effie's family lived. Seth later married a Dessie B. Cooper on 19 May 1926 as recorded in Beauregard Courthouse Records of Marriages Book # 8-5630.
