Sofie was born in 1748 in hunskår i Breim.  Sofie's father was Jorgen Borgeson and her mother was Anne Rasmusdotter.  Her paternal grandparents were Borge Anderson and Gullbjorg Jorgensdotter. She had a brother and five sisters, named Rasmus, Sofie, Marte, Gullbjorg, Berte and Johanne.  She was the oldest of the seven children.  She died in 1748 in hunskår i Breim.
