Catharina Christina was born on September 6th, 1877 in Malmesbury.  Catharina Christina's father was Simon Petrus van Blerk and her mother was Jacomina Hendrina Louw (van Blerk).  Her paternal grandparents were Johannes Petrus van Blerk and Geertruida Elizabeth Louw (van Blerk); her maternal grandparents were Jacobus Adriaan Louw and Rachel Elizabeth (Louw). She had four brothers and six sisters, named Jacobus Adrijan Rozier, Simon Petrus, Petrus Gerhardus Louw, Jan Albertus, Johanna Petronella, Jacomina Aletta, Anna Magrita, Cornelia Johanna Jacoba, Martha Berrenda and Ragel Elizabeth. She had an adopted brother named Gerhadus. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Nicolaas Philip, Philip Petrus and Hester Magdalena.  She died at the age of 47 on May 30th, 1925 in Ermelo Hospital, Ermelo, Mpumalanga.
