Harriett was born in 1860 in Wateringbury, Kent.  Harriett's father was David STANLEY and her mother was Frances BOXELL.  Her paternal grandparents were David STANLEY and Ann LAMBERT; her maternal grandparents were John BOXALL and Sarah. She had three brothers and two sisters, named John David, Henry, Charles, Sarah Anne and George.
