William was born in 1820 in Boughton Monchelsea, England, United Kingdom.1   William's father was George BOULDEN and his mother was Sarah STANLEY.  His paternal grandparents were David BOULDEN and Sarah STANLEY; his maternal grandparents were Zebulon STANLEY and Ann SHAW. He had four brothers and a sister, named George Tong, John, David, Stephen Stanley and Harriet.  He was the second youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 73 in 1893.
