Lewis Larue Gammon

Lewis Larue was born in October 1854 in Iowa.¹ Lewis Larue's father was James Wilkenson Gammon and his mother was Armilda Eliza Myers. His paternal grandparents were Dozier Brawner Gammon and Lavina Letitia Turbeville; his maternal grandparents are Thomas Myers and Jane. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Newton Franklin, Eugene Theophilus, Bird Lafayette, Willis Wilkerson, Dozier Gaines, Charles Thomas, Lucius, Lydia Josephine, Martha Jane and Catharine Melvina. He was the oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 73 on November 6th, 1927 in Woodland, Decatur, Iowa, United States.
