James Wilkenson Gammon

James Wilkenson was born on June 16th, 1825 in Knoxville, Knox, Tennessee, United States.¹ James Wilkenson's father was Dozier Brawner Gammon and his mother was Lavina Letitia Turbeville. His paternal grandparents were Harris Gammon and Elizabeth Bettie Brawner. He had five brothers and a sister, named George Washington, John W, William Eaton, Hugh C, Lee Harris and Minerva Jane. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 60 on February 11th, 1886 in Row 18. He was buried in 1886 in Leon, Decatur, Iowa, United States.²
