William was born on April 1st, 1893 in Pella Ia..1   William's father was Jacob Monster and his mother was Adriana Jana Klyn.  His paternal grandfather was Leendert Monster and his paternal grandmother is Lena Kamp; his maternal grandparents were Arie Ariese Klyn and Neeltje Klein. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Leendert, Leendert J, Lane, Arie, Neetje (Nell), Lena, Hendrika, Margaret and Janna Jeannette.  He was the nineth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 84 on March 12th, 1978.
