Arie was born on December 17th, 1890 in Iowa.1   Arie's father was Jacob Monster and his mother was Adriana Jana Klyn.  His paternal grandfather was Leendert Monster and his paternal grandmother is Lena Kamp; his maternal grandparents were Arie Ariese Klyn and Neeltje Klein. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Leendert, Leendert J, Lane, William, Neetje (Nell), Lena, Hendrika, Margaret and Janna Jeannette.  He was the eighth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 8 on November 3rd, 1882 in Pella, Marion, Iowa, United States of America.2
