Edward was born in year 1715 in Suffolk, Whatfield and was baptised on December 15th, 1715. Edward's father was William Coufsins and his mother was Lydia. His paternal grandparents were William Coufsins and Elizabeth Angier; his. He was the fourth of eight children. He had four brothers and three sisters, named William, Thomas, Samuel, John, Mary, Sarah and Lydia.
