Garfield, known as Garfield, was born on August 3rd, 1881.1   Garfield's father was Hugh BOYD and his mother was Elizabeth ALLISON.  His paternal grandparents are Robert BOYD and <Unknown>. He had seven brothers and a sister, named William, Robert, James, Joseph, John, Samuel, Edgar and Kate.  He was the third youngest of the nine children.
