William Thornton

William was born in 1860 in Morton, Bingley, Yorkshire, England.¹ William's father was William Thornton and his mother was Mary (Thornton). His paternal grandparents were Unknown Thornton and Mary (Thornton). He had two brothers and five sisters, named Joseph A, Charles, Margaret Ann, Sarah, Grace, Elizabeth J and Alice. He was the seventh oldest of the eight children.
