William Petty

William was born in 1749 in Storiths, Hazlewood, Skipton, Yorkshire, England. William's father was Joseph Petty and his mother was Ann Thompson. His paternal grandparents were Richard Petyt and Alice Lowcock. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Joseph, Thomas, Richard, Margaret, Mary, Abigail, Elleanor, Hannah and Ann. He was the youngest of the ten children.
