James Newiss

James was born in September 1892 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England.¹ James' father was James Newis and his mother was Ann Gill. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Newiss and Ann Hartley. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Frederick, Arthur Gill, Clara, Annie and Lillie. He was the youngest of the seven children.
