Clara Newiss

Clara was born in September 1878 in Royton, Lancashire, England.¹ Clara's father was James Newis and her mother was Ann Gill. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Newiss and Ann Hartley. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, Frederick, James, Arthur Gill, Annie and Lillie. She was the third oldest of the seven children.
