John was born on June 17th, 1905 in Deniston.  John's father was William Brownlie Williamson and his mother was Barbara JESSIE Smith.  His paternal grandparents were John Williamson and Rebecca Kay; his maternal grandparents were James Patterson Smith and Barbara Jeffrey Johnstone.  He was the oldest of four children.  He had two brothers and a sister, named Jessie, Rita and Ruby.  He died at the age of 93 in 1998.
