Norman was born on May 18th, 1936.  Norman's father was John Williamson and his mother was Ethel Shortridge Grierson.  His paternal grandparents were William Brownlie Williamson and Barbara JESSIE Smith; his maternal grandparents are Grierson and Shortridge.  He is the youngest of two children.  He has a brother named Wiiliam.
