Thomas was born in 1833.  Thomas' father was Thomas George and his mother was Catherine  Tooth.  His paternal grandparents were Richard George  and Ann ?. He had two brothers and five sisters, named James, Alfred, Catherine, Hannah, Maria, Emily and Ellen.  He was the oldest of the eight children.
