Alfred was born on July 22nd, 1846.  Alfred's father was Thomas George and his mother was Catherine  Tooth.  His paternal grandparents were Richard George  and Ann ?. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, James, Catherine, Hannah, Maria, Emily and Ellen.  He was the third youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 45 on February 18th, 1892.
