Ellen was born in 1851.  Ellen's father was Thomas George and her mother was Catherine  Tooth.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard George  and Ann ?. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, James, Alfred, Catherine, Hannah, Maria and Emily.  She was the youngest of the eight children.
