Ruth's father was James GILHESPY and her mother was Mary BROWN. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Jacob, Joseph, Joseph, James, George Brown, Dorothy (Jane?), Mary Ann/Margaret, Mary, Mary Ann and Sarah. She died in 1868.¹
