James GILHESPY

James was born about 1805 in Hallington. He died on June 21st, 1869 in Chirton, North Shields. He was buried on June 23rd, 1869 in Christ Church, N.S..¹²

Jacob is a possibility for father of James ashe named his first son Jacob. This Jacob [67] and his wife Mary[72] are recorded at Eland Hall, Ponteland on 1851 C.The name Gilhespy is probably a varient of Gillespie 'thebishop's servant'The term 'hind' is used for 'man in charge'.There is a baptism of James Gilhespy at Falstone Presbyterianchurch on 17th April 1806 [born 31 March 1806 father Robert andMother Margaret.
