William Henry was born on February 13th, 1842 in Dundee, Monroe, Michigan, United States.1   William Henry's father was Orlean Rankins and his mother was Hannah Miller.  His paternal grandparents were Samuel Rankin and Azubah Whitcomb; his maternal grandfather was George Miller. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Leonard, Orson, Orrin, Azaba, Harriet E. and Rose Emma.  He was the third youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 77 on November 10th, 1919 in Dundee, Monroe, Michigan, United States.  He was buried in Petersburg, Monroe, Michigan, United States.2 2

‌William Henry and Amy Ursla were married in a religious ceremony on July 11th, 1869 in Dundee, Monroe, Michigan, United States.3   They had four sons and seven daughters, named Myron, Laverne, Elmer, Dewitt, Alta D., Amy Elizabeth, Marietta, Margaret Ellen, Henrietta O "Etta", Blanche Francis and Grace M..
