Wytske was born in 1819 in Wartena.  Wytske's father was Lieuwe Roelofs Rosema and her mother was Sytske Hedzers Kooistra. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Hedzer, Hedzer, Melle, Froukje, Janke and Gertje.  She was the second youngest of the seven children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Roelof, Sipke and Tetje.  She died at the age of 96 on January 23rd, 1915.
