Gustav was born on August 24th, 1906 in Preussen.1   Gustav's father was Gottleib Pieniak and his mother was Auguste Benzko/Benzler/Benczyk.  His paternal grandparents were Johann Pienak and Regine Jeromin. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Johann, Karl, Charlotte, Amalie, Luise, Maria and Auguste.  He was the youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 38 on March 22nd, 1945 in USSR.1
