Amalie was born on December 28th, 1889 in E Prussia.1   Amalie's father was Gottleib Pieniak and her mother was Auguste Benzko/Benzler/Benczyk.  Her paternal grandparents were Johann Pienak and Regine Jeromin. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Johann, Karl, Gustav, Charlotte, Luise, Maria and Auguste.  She was the second oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 2 on February 4th, 1892.
