Maria was born on March 9th, 1897 in E Prussia.1   Maria's father was Gottleib Pieniak and her mother was Auguste Benzko/Benzler/Benczyk.  Her paternal grandparents were Johann Pienak and Regine Jeromin. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Johann, Karl, Gustav, Charlotte, Amalie, Luise and Auguste.  She was the fifth oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 64 on June 26th, 1961.
