Annie was born in 1901 in Sale, Cheshire, England.  Annie's father was James MARSLAND and her mother was Mary Alice Rogerson GRATRIX.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard MARSLAND and Ann RENSHAW.  She had two brothers and six sisters, named james, Richard, Edith, Polly, Alice, Esther, Dorothy and Ethel.  She was the youngest of the nine children.
