John Lowdnes

John was born in 1860 in Stanfield, Burslow, Staffordshire and his baptism took place on July 28th, 1859 in Burslem, Staffordshire.¹ John's father was George Lowndes and his mother was Annie Emery. His paternal grandparents were John Lowndes and Mary Dawson; his maternal grandparents were William Emery and Elizabeth. He had six brothers and two sisters, named William, George, Timothy, David, Henry, Walter, Mary and Sarah. He was the third oldest of the nine children.
