Joseph's baptism took place on February 6th, 1770 in North Bradley.1  Joseph's father was James Read and his mother was Sarah Silverthorne. He had three brothers and four sisters, named James, Shem, Ham, Sarah, Jane, Sarah and Jane. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named James, John, Nathaniel, Ann and Cathrine.  He died in 1770.  He was buried on February 11th, 1770 in North Bradley.2
