John's baptism took place on December 8th, 1764 in North Bradley.1  John's father was James Read and his mother was <Unknown>. He had two brothers and two sisters, named James, Nathaniel, Ann and Cathrine. He had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Joseph, James, Shem, Ham, Sarah, Jane, Sarah and Jane.
