Charles' baptism took place on July 19th, 1778 in North Bradley.1  Charles' father was Joseph Read and his mother was Ann Bennet.  His maternal grandparents were Joseph Bennett and Grace. He had a brother and six sisters, named James, Susanna, Joanna, Susanna, Ann, Joanna and Joanna.  He died in 1778.  He was buried on September 21st, 1778 in North Bradley.2
