Sarah was born on January 16th, 1800 in North Bradley.1   Sarah's father was Thomas Dainton and her mother was Mary Dix.  Her paternal grandparents were Charles Dainton and Leah Loader; her maternal grandparents were Peter Dix and Mary Maggot. She had four brothers and a sister, named Chales, Joseph, Lewis, John and Mary.  She was the second oldest of the six children.
