Mary was born on July 15th, 1809 in North Bradley.1   Mary's father was Thomas Dainton and her mother was Mary Dix.  Her paternal grandparents were Charles Dainton and Leah Loader; her maternal grandparents were Peter Dix and Mary Maggot. She had four brothers and a sister, named Chales, Joseph, Lewis, John and Sarah.  She was the fifth oldest of the six children.
