Robert's baptism took place on June 24th, 1781 in North Bradley.1  Robert's father was Jeremiah Butcher and his mother was Betty (Eliz.) Palmer.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Butcher and Mary Frances. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Francis, Joseph, John, Mary, Betty, Mary, Jane, Ann, Frances and Joanna.
