Mary was born on April 6th, 1810 and her baptism took place on July 1st, 1810 in Petworth, Sussex.1  Mary's father was George Whitcomb and her mother was Charlotte Warden.  Her maternal grandparents were Wm Warden and Mary Spooner. She had four brothers and two sisters, named George, James, William, Charles, Charlotte and Ann.
