Charlotte was born in 1822 and her baptism took place on June 16th, 1822 in Petworth, Sussex.1  Charlotte's father was George Whitcomb and her mother was Charlotte Warden.  Her maternal grandparents were Wm Warden and Mary Spooner. She had four brothers and two sisters, named George, James, William, Charles, Mary and Ann.
