Margaretha Isabella was born on February 7th, 1820 in Gouritsrivier, George and her baptism took place on June 10th, 1820 in George.1   Margaretha Isabella's father was Cornelis (Langetouw) Claasen and her mother was Johanna Isabella Rautenbach.  Her paternal grandparents were Nicolaas Claasen and Martha Dorothea Pienaar. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Nicolaas Petrus, Johan Andreas, Cornelis Johannes, Daniel Gerhardus, Maria Dorothea and Johanna.  She was the second oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 82 on June 30th, 1902 in Assegaaiboschfontein, Riversdal.1
