Vincent was born in 1751.  Vincent's father was Vincent Dye and his mother was Sarah Artepe.  His paternal grandparents were John Laurens Dey and Ann Brown. He had ten brothers and four sisters, named Daniel, John, Enoch, Brown, David, Rachael, Reuben/Ruben, Dussoway, Joseph, William, Uenice, Sara, Nancy and Catherine "Caty".  He was the third oldest of the fifteen children.
