Daniel was born on July 31st, 1745.  Daniel's father was Vincent Dye and his mother was Sarah Artepe.  His paternal grandparents were John Laurens Dey and Ann Brown. He had ten brothers and four sisters, named John, Vincent, Enoch, Brown, David, Rachael, Reuben/Ruben, Dussoway, Joseph, William, Uenice, Sara, Nancy and Catherine "Caty".  He was the oldest of the fifteen children.  He died at the age of 79 on January 24th, 1825.

‌Daniel and Abigail were married on March 24th, 1773.  They had seven sons and a daughter, named Vincent, Daniel, William, Reuben, Enoch, David, John and Elizabeth.
