John David Mathews 
John David was born on February 16th, 1870 in California. John David's father was Benjamin Franklin Mathews and his mother was Mahala "Mahalie" Ann Whiteman. His maternal grandparents were David Waldo Whiteman and Martha Jane Bryant. He had three brothers and a sister, named Robert Lee, Reuben Alexander, William Jesse and Anna. He was the second oldest of the five children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named George Headly and Martha Ellen. He died at the age of 74 on April 9th, 1944 in Los Angeles, California.General Notes
