John Gilbert 
John was born on September 14th, 1772.1 John's father was John Gilbert and his mother was Theodosia Marsh. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Gilbert and Elizabeth Marshfield; his maternal grandparents were Jonathan Marsh and Theodosia Kellogg. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Giles, John, Hiram, Theodosia, Esther, Elizabeth and Chloe. He was the third oldest of the eight children.1 -
