John Gilbert 
John was born on August 26th, 1782 in New Hartford, Connecticut.1 John's father was John Gilbert and his mother was Theodosia Marsh. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Gilbert and Elizabeth Marshfield; his maternal grandparents were Jonathan Marsh and Theodosia Kellogg. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John, Giles, Hiram, Theodosia, Esther, Elizabeth and Chloe. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 42 on April 6th, 1825 in New York City, New York.1 -
