Eleanor was born in 1217 in Aix,France.  Eleanor's father was Count of Provence and Forcalquier Raymond Berenger V and her mother was Countess of Savoy Beatrice Savoy.  Her paternal grandparents were Count of Provence Alfonso Provence and Countess Gersinde Sabran; her maternal grandparents were Count of Savoy Thomas Savoy I and Margaret Geneva. She had three sisters named Marguerite, Sanchia and Beatrice.  She was the oldest of the four children.  She died at the age of 74 on June 25th, 1291 in Amsebury Abbey,Wiltshire,England.  She was buried in Convent Church,Amesbury,England.

‌Eleanor and Henry were married in a religious ceremony in Canterbury Cathedral,Kent.  They had a son named Longshanks.
