Ramon (Raymond), known as el Grande, was born on November 11th, 1081 in Barcelona,Spain. El Grande's father was Count of Barcelona, Gerona, Osona, Carcasonne, and Radez Ramon (Raymond) (Cabeza d'Estope (tow-head)) Berenger II and his mother was Matilda d'Hauteville. His paternal grandparents are Ramon (Raymond) (The Elder) *Berenger I and Almodis *de la Marche. He was an only child. He died at the age of 49 on June 19th, 1131.
el Grande and Dulce Aldonza Milaud were married in a religious ceremony. They had a son and a daughter, named The Saint and Berenguela.
