Josef was born on January 28th, 1786 in Kostenice, Pardubice, , Bohemia. Josef's father was Johann Tepley and his mother was Maria Olesinsky. His paternal grandparents were Wilhelm Josef Tepley and Agnes Hilda Hallmann. He had five brothers and a sister, named Johann Heinrich, Friedrich, Erhard Johann, Peter Hermann, Frank Josef and Maria Theresia. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 68 on March 24th, 1854 in Kostenice, Pardubice, , Bohemia.-
