Grete Maria was born on July 8th, 1820 in , , , Bohemia. Grete Maria's father was Josef Tepley and her mother was Maria Trumpf. Her paternal grandparents were Johann Tepley and Maria Olesinsky; her maternal grandparents are Erhardt Trumpf and Wilhelmina Schwanitz. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Philip, Thomas Werner, Friedhelm, Gertrud and Marie Irene. She was the youngest of the seven children. She died at the age of 69 on January 6th, 1890 in , Pardubice, , Bohemia.-
