Gertrud was born on August 7th, 1812 in , , , Bohemia. Gertrud's father was Josef Tepley and her mother was Maria Trumpf. Her paternal grandparents were Johann Tepley and Maria Olesinsky; her maternal grandparents are Erhardt Trumpf and Wilhelmina Schwanitz. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Philip, Thomas Werner, Friedhelm, Marie Irene and Grete Maria. She was the third oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 69 on June 27th, 1882 in , , , Bohemia.-
